StructureSchool K-12
DescriptionThe purpose of this presentation is to review recent controversies related to content of student media in the United States. This is important as student-run media are a useful source of health information and an important learning tool for students. Recent examples of materials causing controversy, and implications of these events for health educators, will be discussed. Participants will benefit by learning of specific examples where student media have caused controversy in a school and how these incidents were addressed; suggestions for how these events can be prevented will be provided.
