A Successful Model of Mental Preparations for the Olympic Gold and Silver Medalists in the 2006 Winter Olympic Game
Structure
DescriptionAnxiety is a common response to competitive pressure. In practical settings many athletes have a great physical talent with excellent skills, but they cannot achieve peak performance during competition due to competitive anxiety. Inability to cope with anxiety has become a critical issue that significantly affects athletes’ performance and psychological well-being. This presentation will provide coaches and athletes with psychological training model that was used by both female and male Olympic athletes who achieved the 2006 Winter Olympic gold and silver medals. Both of the Olympic Medalists have largely contributed their successes to the psychological training through the introduced model.
