Learning Through Doing: Adding Interdisciplinary Touches to the K-6 Physical Education Curriculum

DescriptionLearning through doing will be a hands-on experience with various interdisciplinary ideas in physical education and activities that support these learning experiences. The session will include activities utilizing blooms taxonomy to facilitate higher learning objectives. Other activities presented will include student directed learning tasks like team task challenges, peer skills assessments, self-assessments through physical bests, buddy buzzing/Toe-In meta-cognitive learning style, and brainstorming. An additional block of activities will include the use of science based learning tasks that promote science, math and reading objectives.
