Structure | National Council for Sport Health Care
Description | This study investigates the use of an online assessment tool to monitor compliance rates for obese children (over the 85th percentile) in a structured eight-week physical activity and nutritional program. Stony Brook University physical therapy and athletic training students participated in the research practicum to assess physical fitness, BMI, body schema, as well as social/emotional factors of 30 children ages eight to fourteen. The research design compares a control group on the waiting list with the program participants to measure improvements in the stated measures as well as compliance from a group that receives online monitoring from the program researchers.
