It is a common practice in physical education pedagogy research to use students as an experimental unit of analysis while the program interventions are on intact classes. This practice has serious implications. The purposes of this tutorial were to provide an in-depth discussion on the implications with a concrete intervention study example and use SAS and SPSS to demonstrate how to conduct correct statistical data analysis with intact classes as an experimental unit of analysis.
