554 Meeting the Common Core Standards Through Literature Enhanced PE

In this session, elementary PE teachers will learn how to meet the National Physical Education Standards and the Common Core Standards through the use of fictional stories written specifically to introduce physical education units. These Literature Enhanced Physical Education (LEPE) stories provide teachers with visual and verbal cues to motivate and educate students through their imagination. The LEPE lesson plans covered in this session will give examples of differentiated learning techniques, independent learning stations and authentic assessments. (CEU)
