Today's youth have many opportunities to participate in a wide range of activities. At one time youth sports were viewed as leisure activities. This may no longer be an accurate assessment of what is occurring. In many circumstances, participation leads to feelings of frustration, stress, and exhaustion. Burnout and leaving the sport all together often follow closely behind. This presentation will examine the evolution of youth sports and strategies to combat burnout and withdrawal. (CEU)
