Intended Audience: Middle/High, K-12
Speaker: Amy Lauren Smith, Shanghai American School, Shanghai, China
When students are empowered to monitor cyberbullying behaviors on their own, they organically create a sort of “neighborhood watch”, opening up communication within the community and encouraging bystanders to become allies. Strong students are identified for their influence over peers, inclusive attitude, and passion for advocacy. They are then given time to create, with a teacher advisor, their own positive social media for the school. (CEU) (CHES)
