This tutorial is to introduce Student Growth Percentiles (SGP), which is a relative measure of how much a student has improved/changed from one year to the next as compared to his/her academic peers and is being used in more than 20 states to assess student learning and teacher effectiveness. After an overall introduction, some technical details of SGP will be described and illustrated. Finally, the method will be illustrated with a real-life PE example.
