This session will include a brief overview of the revised National Standards for K-12 Physical Education and the grade-level outcomes that were developed in concert with the standards, followed by an activity-based modeling of the outcomes across grade levels. The overview will highlight the research that provided guidance for developing the outcomes, which bridge the gap between standards and curriculum planning. The activity-based portion of the session will demonstrate how skills and concepts shift across levels, using activities from Standards 1, 2 and 3 as examples. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in the activities and consider strategies for implementing the standards and outcomes. CEU
